About Me
I became a therapist to guide others in uncovering how their past shapes their experience of the world. In therapy with me, we will explore and process the past so you can reclaim your narrative and live more fully in the present. My training in family therapy and social work allows me to understand individual experiences as intricately influenced by the larger contexts and societal structures we are all part of. I am passionate about helping my clients externalize the impact of oppressive systems and critically examine how these forces may be constraining their lives and senses of self.
Outside of the therapy room, you'll often find me on my roller skates, enjoying the “third space” of the skate park with friends, and reflecting on the parallels between skating and the therapeutic process. Like learning new skate tricks, engaging in therapy requires stepping outside our comfort zone to confront fear and resistance and accomplish things that initially felt out of reach. In the ramp and in session, I strive to embody the mindset of continual growth and self-discovery that I aim to cultivate in my clients.

My clients would describe me as uniquely skilled at balancing gentleness and directness, allowing them to feel challenged yet never judged. In our work together, I'll encourage you to confront discomfort in safe, approachable ways. Rather than giving advice, I'll more often ask thought-provoking questions and guide you through experiential exercises to help you connect deeply with different parts of yourself and tune into your inner wisdom. I'll recommend treatment options based on my expertise, while providing you ample agency and choice so the process unfolds at your pace.
With 10 years of experience in complex trauma, I've learned the importance of finding the balance between"feeling your feelings", but not becoming overwhelmed by them. We'll dive into the hard emotions, but I'll also equip you with tools to help your nervous system tolerate challenging experiences, processing them effectively. If traditional talk therapy has felt like talking in circles without creating lasting change, let's try a more experiential approach.
