Maisy Hughes, PhD, LMFT
Maisy (she/her) is an individual and relational therapist specializing in working with complex trauma and attachment wounds. Her first priority as a therapist is developing and maintaining a strong therapeutic relationship and she will work collaboratively with you throughout the process to ensure you are getting what you need. She welcomes clients with a diversity of backgrounds, experiences, and identities, and brings an anti-oppressive and decolonial lens to her practice.
Maisy’s therapeutic approach is rooted in attachment theory, ego state therapy, polyvagal theory and somatics. She is an EMDRIA-Certified EMDR therapist and has advanced training in using EMDR with complex trauma and dissociation. She believes that insight and awareness about the impacts of the past is a crucial step, but sustained change comes from mind-body approaches that reprocess "stuck" emotions and return your nervous system to a regulated state. In your work with Maisy, you will move at your pace through unprocessed experiences that are holding you back from the life you want to live.
Specialties: EMDR, Trauma/Complex Trauma, Attachment Issues, Anxiety, Depression, Life Transitions, Self-Esteem, Couple/Relational/Family Therapy
