Our Therapy Approaches

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is a structured, evidence-based approach that helps you identify unhelpful thought patterns and replace them with healthier ones. CBT focuses on practical tools to manage anxiety, depression, and daily stress more effectively.

Helpful for: anxiety disorders, depression, OCD, phobias, stress management, and goal-focused therapy seekers.

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy helps individuals who experience intense emotions build emotional regulation and coping skills. DBT combines mindfulness, distress tolerance, and communication strategies to support emotional stability and healthier relationships.

Helpful for: emotional dysregulation, mood swings, relationship challenges, self-harm urges, and chronic stress.

Ego State Therapy

Ego State Therapy works with different parts of the self—such as protective, wounded, or younger parts—to promote healing and integration. It is commonly used in trauma therapy to increase emotional safety and internal balance.

Helpful for: complex trauma, dissociation, attachment trauma, emotional overwhelm, and feeling stuck in repeating patterns.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)

EMDR therapy is a powerful, trauma-focused treatment that helps the brain reprocess distressing memories so they feel less overwhelming. Many clients find EMDR effective for trauma healing without needing to talk in detail about painful events.

Helpful for: trauma, PTSD, childhood trauma, anxiety linked to past experiences, grief, and distressing memories.

Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT)

Emotion-Focused Therapy helps individuals and couples better understand, express, and regulate emotions. This approach supports emotional healing, stronger relationships, and deeper connection with yourself and others.

Helpful for: relationship issues, emotional disconnection, attachment concerns, difficulty expressing feelings, and couples therapy.

Gottman Method Couples Therapy

The Gottman Method is a research-based form of couples counseling that teaches practical tools for communication, conflict management, and intimacy. It focuses on strengthening the foundation of healthy, lasting relationships.

Helpful for: couples seeking structured support, communication skills, conflict resolution, or relationship enrichment.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

Internal Family Systems therapy helps you understand and heal different “parts” of yourself with compassion and curiosity. By strengthening your calm, grounded core self, IFS supports deep emotional healing and self-leadership.

Helpful for: trauma therapy, inner conflict, anxiety, self-criticism, people-pleasing, and attachment wounds.

PDA-Affirming Parenting

PDA-affirming parenting support helps families reduce anxiety and power struggles by prioritizing autonomy, collaboration, and emotional safety. This approach is especially supportive for neurodivergent children with a PDA profile.

Helpful for: parents of PDA or autistic children, high-demand anxiety, frequent meltdowns, and family stress.

Polyvagal-Informed Therapy

Polyvagal-informed therapy focuses on nervous system regulation and understanding how the body responds to stress, safety, and connection. This approach helps you gently build a sense of calm and emotional safety.

Helpful for: trauma, anxiety, emotional shutdown, chronic stress, feeling “on edge,” or difficulty feeling safe in relationships.

Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PE)

Prolonged Exposure Therapy is an evidence-based trauma treatment that helps reduce fear by gradually and safely facing trauma-related memories and avoided situations. Over time, this approach supports nervous system regulation and reduced anxiety.

Helpful for: PTSD, trauma-related avoidance, panic responses, and fear that interferes with daily life.

Psychodynamic Therapy

Psychodynamic therapy explores how early experiences and relationship patterns influence current thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. This depth-oriented approach supports lasting insight, emotional healing, and personal growth.

Helpful for: long-standing emotional patterns, relationship difficulties, self-esteem concerns, unresolved childhood experiences, and deeper self-exploration.

Somatic Therapy

Somatic therapy focuses on the mind-body connection and how stress and trauma are stored in the body. Through gentle body-based techniques, clients learn to release tension, regulate their nervous system, and feel more grounded.

Helpful for: trauma, anxiety, chronic stress, panic, physical tension, and feeling disconnected from your body.

Structural Family Therapy

Structural family therapy focuses on family roles, boundaries, and leadership. It helps families create healthier structures that support connection, balance, and emotional safety.

Helpful for: family conflict, parenting difficulties, boundary issues, and families feeling disconnected or overwhelmed.

Systemic Therapy

Systemic therapy looks at how relationship patterns affect individuals within families, couples, and groups. By changing these patterns, therapy supports healthier communication and stronger connections.

Helpful for: relationship conflict, recurring family patterns, communication breakdowns, and relational stress.

Talk Therapy (Psychotherapy)

Talk therapy provides a safe, supportive space to explore thoughts, emotions, and life experiences at your own pace. This form of psychotherapy focuses on self-understanding, emotional support, and building coping skills for everyday stress and life transitions.

Helpful for: anxiety, depression, stress, life changes, self-esteem concerns, and personal growth.

Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)

TF-CBT is a specialized trauma therapy for children and adolescents that combines coping skills with gentle trauma processing. Caregivers are included to help create safety, understanding, and long-term resilience.

Helpful for: children and teens who have experienced trauma, abuse, loss, or major life changes.
