Laura Brown, MFT
Laura is an individual, couple, and family therapist specializing in relationships of all kinds, life transitions, dysfunctional family systems, communication building, sex therapy, anxiety, addiction, self-esteem and identity work, among others. She is passionate about cultivating meaningful and healing relationships with her clients by working with each person individually to identify their unique set of challenges and needs. Laura’s approach to therapy is taking on a compassionate, caring, and genuine therapeutic stance with all of her clients, creating a safe and warm environment for everyone who walks through her door.
She uses a multitude of systemic approaches when working with her clients, with an emphasis on Emotionally Focused Therapy and The Gottman Method, in which she holds a Level 3 certification. Laura is committed to practicing anti-racist, LGBTQIA+, and non-monogamy friendly therapy. She believes that a healthy and effective therapeutic relationship is built on trust and a sense of safety. She also feels a balance between the mind and body is important for one’s overall health and wellness.
Laura received her Master’s Degree in Couple and Family Therapy from Thomas Jefferson University. She completed her clinical work at Council for Relationships, focusing on individual, relational & sex therapy.
